At
right, Past Chief David Colligan displays a special poster he brought
back from Disney World. He had it framed, and donated the print
to the CFD in 2001. Behind the Chief hangs a sheet dedicated to
the rescuers in New York City, signed by many Cromwell citizens
after the September 11th disaster. The expression of community
care and concern will be sent to one of the affected NYC
firehouses.
Every year, our volunteer members provide well over 30,000
hours of service to the community, saving lives and property,
and saving taxpayers well over $500,000. We leave our families,
homes and workplaces to help neighbors in need.
Some reasons for making a donation to the CFD may include
- thanks for services received
- appreciation for services provided to a friend or family
member
- in celebration of an event or an anniversary (birth of a
baby, a life saved, etc.)
- in memory of a loved one
- to support our training programs
- to buy special equipment (defibrillators, thermal
imaging camera, etc.)
- to support a specific aspect of our operations (EMS,
fire/rescue, dispatch, ice rescue, water rescue, community
education, etc.)
Donation checks payable to "Cromwell Fire Department" can be
mailed to:
Cromwell Fire Department
82 Court Street
PO Box 269
Cromwell, CT 06416-0269
Special donations are also welcome. Ed and Barbara Clapp
donated a 18' boat for river rescues; the Cromwell Women's
League donated teddy bears to be carried on our ambulances
for children; several civic organizations helped raise funds to
purchase AEDs (defibrillators); years ago the Lions Club
donated an ambulance.
You might also choose to remember the CFD in a will or trust,
or make a non-financial donation. Please
contact Stephen Pendl
for these matters.
